Adult Basic and Literacy Education
The Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) program offers FREE classes for adult learners. The program is designed with the learner in mind and curriculum is uniquely developed to match the needs of each individual. Services provided include remedial and basic skill instruction in reading, writing and math; GED preparation and official GED practice testing materials; transitional and review materials and instruction for those preparing to enter college/post secondary education; preparation for WorkKeys, the test utilized for employment and advancement by local business and industry as well as entrance and placement in many adult programs at Collins Career Center using KeyTrain (official WorkKeys software). All students are provided with FREE access to material, software and instruction year round.

GED Testing
- GED Testing is usually offered on the last Thursday/Friday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day.
- 12 Seats are available per session, so register early as seating is limited.
- The cost for testing is $40.00, though it is possible for students who meet the requirements of the ABLE program to receive assistance with some or all of the registration fee.
- Must have state issued photo I.D.
- GED testing follows Collins Career Center Schedule (If Collins closes or delays due to inclement weather, testing will be rescheduled).
